I wish you roses

I yearn for your smile and your innocence.
Your lightness and the sun of your hugs.
Every few days I keep looking back through my frames wishing I will see you,
but there’s just blurred mountains.
Maybe it’s the distance between you and I,
or the impossibility to go back in time.

Do you feel just as lost?
Or unsurprised that the future is never as we imagined.
Are you proud ?
Or does your heart lose hold of its anatomy,
and your head tries to imagine me now on the other side.
Have you accepted that we no longer have each other ?
Or do you fight to push against this rock that forces me to bounce to the future and leave you to fall with the past.

All right.
It is unhealthy.

In the darkest parts of me I wish I could still be part of you.
And so I keep myself within this geographical mind boundary so that I can look back a day or two.
I sit back against the floor of these mountains and lay us down.
I prepare the soil,
dead on one side and fertile on the other.
I plant you roses.
After all these years,
and all these watershed tears
from a heart that grew love,
I wish us love,
I wish us well,
And I wish you roses.
