Salmah Salam Oiza is a Nigerian writer and poet based in Birmingham, UK, whose work seeks to resist the dangers of the single story. Her debut poetry pamphlet, Foreign in a Long-Familiar Leap Year (2024), chronicles her leap year marked by migration and questions of belonging and has resonated widely with readers home and abroad.
